Myles Brennan has more talent than any QB on our roster. Period

Talent isn't the right word. He's the most talented coming out of high school, no doubt. His ceiling is also, by far, the highest. Too many rantards like to anoint these athletic QBs who never did anything but rely on their athleticism. Playing QB at the D1 level takes WAY more than a strong arm and quick feet. Then we have idiots who are anointing a kid who hasn't played a full season since his sophomore year and we think he's ready for the SEC?!? And then they say he's the most talented QB recruit since Periloux?!? Wtf are these cats looking at? Periloux, for all his faults, was actually a smart QB. He didn't rely on just his big arm and feet in HS, he read defenses and went through progressions. This kid is no wear near what Periloux was coming out of high school.

I think realistically, we are at least a year away from approaching elite status; our youth at QB and average OL play will be a factor. Etling will be good enough to win us 8-9 games but his lack of mobility combined with the inability to stretch the field will hinder us against Alabama, Florida and the best defenses. Fortunately, Aranda will keep most teams from running away from us. If our special teams are truly "special" with returns and blocked kicks perhaps we can steal an upset or two and change the course of our season.

Although LN deserves the chance to show what he's made of, everything you said about Ryan P is probably correct. He was a once in a while player. People forget quickly. Had he stayed on course who knows how the timeline of LSU football changes. He was the top player in the country and certainly appeared to be as good as advertised. LN can be anything he wants but surely wouldn't be a bust if he isn't Ryan P.
