There are literally hundreds of cities which meet these criteria, and also which don't require living on the surface of the sun for 5 months out of the year. I have a friend who lives off Via Linda - I've been to Scottsdale plenty of times. It's like a city personally designed by Guy Fieri

The desert life isn't for everyone. But a huge portion of Scottsdale population is transplants from other states, people that chose to leave they states they are from to relocate here.

Some of the pretty plastic Scottsdale people that live here are annoying and pretentious, don't get me wrong. I don't hang with that crowd luckily and just enjoy what the city offers without getting sucked into some of the culture

(Can we at least both agree that Scottsdale is several times better than Baton Rouge? )
