Dunn was a bit of a disappointment as a rookie this year, and Rubio played very well after the ASB. Realistically, why would Minny trade Rubio for a pick?

A Rubio/Jrue backcourt would be awesome.

Rubio is going to be 27 this year, he doesn't line up with the time horizon of their core. Towns and Wiggins are 21. Dunn is 22. Unless they already think Dunn is going to be a bust, they'd be foolish to chase the playoffs and set Dunn's development back. 4 years from now I guarantee they would rather have a pick and a more developed Dunn than Rubio.

That being said we're dealing with a GM that's also the coach who does want to win now. So it's not a foregone conclusion that he's available. But he was available at the trade deadline and their long term plans shouldn't have changed just because he played well down the stretch.
