This is the simpleton's answer. If everyone had insurance, they'd turn the cameras to something else. Eventually, they'll get you and me for something.
The Iberville Parish Sheriff's Department does not need to put out "traps" to generate more revenue. They are well funded. I can assure you people not having drivers insurance is a bigger issue than them trying to generate revenue.
If they wanted to generate revenue, they could do so without even having to purchase this equipment. I'd rather them catch people with no insurance than worrying about people with expired inspection stickers. When a driver doesn't have insurance and they cause a wreck, it actually affects people.

Every government entity gobbles up money, they never have enough money. This also is patronage at its best - a private company makes money off the c.j. system. They are doing this in Bossier Parish, 6 in place, and it is clear it is a revenue grab.
These systems where some private company does it "at no cost" are ripe for corruption.
And, the no insurance types won't pay anyway. So, they'll find some other way to make money from this because that private company must make money from this.
