Ridiculous. I don't drink, and dislike alcohol. But it's a legal product that carries with it no intrinsic immorality.
If it was so immoral, it would be banned outright. But it isn't, because Glover and pals don't have the political balls to do it. Instead, we get little potshots taken at it that are utterly meaningless, and would do damage to the University's bottom line. If you want to break ties between universities and alcohol, don't hide behind bullshite like "health, moral, and religious" reasons.
We know the reason why he wants to do it. It's the reason why every politician wants to do anything: cash. Follow the money on his donors, and you will likely find the real reason behind the bill. Either that, or he wants leverage to force someone to do something, in exchange for dropping his bill. Politicians don't take "moral" stances for free. They have no morals to begin with.

I wonder what his constituents would think of him taking this moral stance while receiving donations from AB or Miller-Coors, or the distribution arms of those companies?
