Last year Coastal Carolina 95 home runs.

While I agree with this and that's what lead to much of Coastal Carolina's success during the regular season how many did they hit in Omaha when it really counted?

The answer: 2 HR's in 8 games

All I'm saying is that no team since the change of the bats has rolled into Omaha and continued to outscore opponents, it takes 2 really good starters and a really good closer. Beyond that the team generally has 1-2 very good power hitters surrounded by speed and athleticism.

Coastal Carolina was built differently last year but it was clear once they made it to the CWS they had to change their approach at the plate.

I agree that hitting bombs was not the only thing they did. And that park is a graveyard but they did hit a ton of bombs last year. They didn't change their approach in Omaha they were just aggressive in every offensive aspect o the game. They stole bases they hit and run they hit for avg and power. That's a team to mold yourself after.
