How exactly can they do that? Switching to clubs and adding pro/rel (which you've suggested before) would just be a bad version of what you can see in Europe.

No it wouldn't because I could then feel a sense of personal ownership over a team in a way that's not available in the US or most of Europe at this point.

I've given money to Nashville FC (before the takeover), Detroit City, and San Fran City FC. I'm also a Jesters season ticket holder. I badly want a path for true community spawned clubs to thrive. MLS does all they can to stamp that out in favor of their single entity, corporate, NFL lite view of the world where fan expression at games is suppressed and the league changes the roster rules mid season when it suits them because why not? Every team is MLS owned anyway. It's not like it's real competition. That's not me saying that, that's MLS saying it.
