People think you're subtle-bragging or playing some game when you constantly point out that $100K is no longer the end-all/be-all "made it" income in this country--especially outside income-depressed or low cost-of-living areas. But that figure has somehow held its mystique even longer than the "if I was handed $1M, I could retire and live my wildest dreams at 30" idea.
