it just doesn't add enough to be worthwhile at this point.

Wrong. Resident Evil 7 is the most unique experience I have ever played in decades of gaming. All of the systems need to be fine tuned but this is the way of the future. Not just a fad. It makes any 1st person experience better.

it gives me a huge headache and makes my eyes burn after about 15 minutes or so.
I had zero headache even though I need glasses and never use them in VR. It made me sick of my stomach the first few times I played it over 30 minutes but the 4th time I played for hours then never made me sick again.

It is no different than the first time you use glasses. Your brain needs to reorient itself. Same with VR. You get used to it and then it doesn't bother you. In your case, you just might be one of the few who can't use it like folks who get headaches watching 3D movies.

It might take a few more years of computer innovation to make it perfect. Little wider viewing field, wireless options, stronger processors and GPUs.

The only problem is convincing AAA studios to make games. Which is a big hurdle.

RE7 proves it is worth the effort. Especially in the horror genre.

For me, I would love to see some big open world 1st person games with VR. I'm not a huge horror fan and RE7 had me feeling like a scared wimp for the whole 12 hours so a normal game out in the bright light of the day would be nice.

I'm a cheap bastard and I have zero buyers remorse for buying the PS4,PSVR just for RE7. Not everyone will feel that way but I had zero buyers remorse once my stomach got used to moving in VR.
