If you're even remotely interested in that type of thing you should make the drive. But go when you can stay all day. Not something you want for rush through.
I don't anyway. I like being able to read the signs and get out and try to imagine it all and stuff. I could go every year, in the Spring, easily.

Yeah I know it's closer for me, but it's not *that* far from Memphis.
Which you may be further from Memphis than I thought.

It's so beautiful with a the dogwoods, and flowering trees and open fields and the water alongside parts.
Yet some of the most violent days of the CW took place there.
I want to go when they have a reenactment. Even though they have excellent signage to describe what happened where, it would still help to understand more of what happened where.
Plus there's a really good catfish restaurant on the way/way back for me.

I've never been to a reenactment but think it would be awesome.
Yeah fighting in the CW would have been some tough shite, but life was tough back then compared to now so maybe it's all relative?
I don't know. Would not want to find out either.

No, it's just north of Florence, maybe an hour or less usually. It's a little bit of a drive from Memphis, cpl hours or so. It's a few miles south of Savannah.
But it's not anywhere far like Chattanooga, Knoxville or anything like that.
I thought you were closer to Memphis.
