I need at least 500GB
These things range form $80-$500
Any brand suggestions?
Or specifications to look for?

Om amazon all the Samsung pro ssd says "PC", but the crucial say "PC and laptop" does that really make difference? Will the Samsung not fit or work in my laptop?

I may be wrong but I think the laptop size is 2.5 inches and there could be a larger form factor that only fit desktops

OK that makes sense. Some of them specifically say "2.5 inch version" aka Asian peen version.

Also check your laptop interface, most laptop ssd's will be sata3. Any modern laptop should be as well, but I think sata3 is backwards compatible with 2 and 1.
Don't buy a pci-e ssd as I doubt your laptop has that interface

Meh, SSDs these days are so similar it really doesn't matter. They'll all be a 100% upgrade over a mechanical hard drive, so look for a cheap one and go for it. Don't spend the extra money on a Sammy Pro model, you wouldn't recognize the difference

Nvme is compatible with m.2, right? Most modern laptops have m.2 expansion

Don't listen to this. Samsung and Intel do a lot more validation and testing than the super cheap drive makers.

I didn't. I would never believe anyone about any product, especially tech products, if they told me brand doesn't matter just get the cheapest.
Im getting the Samsung pro 500gb.
Thanks guys.
