dude its all fricked up due to how stl works. MLS only wants st louuis city to hold the team. Stl city has 320k ppl. for the most part most are not supportive of the sport of soccer.
The county has 2.5 million people, id say 75% in favor of soccer. MLS doesnt like "how far it is to downtown". Most cities i agree but this isnt how it works here.

Yeah downtown St. Louis isn't great but all the other stadiums are downtown aren't they? It is a central location for the whole metroplex as well. It's not that great of a downtown in general though.
The soccer culture in St. Louis was amazing and was probably the best thing about living there.
