They are both good hitters (Rougie does have more power) but lack plate discipline.
Elvis is coming off of a .300+ season and his best defensive year of his career following the biggest meltdown of his career on a national stage. Not that he can't improve, but that's being a bit nitpicky w/ him.
Odor has work to do w/ working counts also w/ his footwork in the field, but he'll be fine.
Heard the Ranger baws talking on the radio and apparently from what they've heard from Perez and other Venezuleans is that the first contract is to set their families and not themselves. Odor has been providing for I believe they said 7 family members over the last several years back in South America. Now, they have nothing to worry about financially.

Correct. They either plan to help them financially during the turmoil or get them out of there to someplace safer (Odor plans to move his parents and younger sister to his new horse ranch in north Texas once he gets it set up).
The political instability in Venezuela is driving their decisions (even Chirinos took a small two-year extension--he is also from there). The Rangers benefit by not having more large contracts that could turn sour (they have enough large bad contracts with Prince, Choo, their share of Hamilton, and now Darvish and Hamels are looking like bad ones too).
