as a Rangers fan, what are the flaws that may catch up to him that you speak of?
Plate discipline is one. He swings at a lot of marginal pitches and has a low walk rate.
Fielding is the other, though he has great range (top5 in plays made outside his "zone") he has a lower conversion on "routine plays" than the top second basemen in the league.
The guy is still ridiculously young and a really good ball player, but has the same issues as Elvis. They are both good hitters (Rougie does have more power) but lack plate discipline. They both have great range, but convert less routine plays than one would like to see out of franchise middle infielders. Crazy enough fielding wise the Rangers have one of the worst middle infields in the league, but they also are the best combo for double plays.
Plate discipline and converting routine plays, if he can do that then he will have a long career. If he can't then he will still play for a while, but will never reach the potential he has with his power and range.

Elvis is coming off of a .300+ season and his best defensive year of his career following the biggest meltdown of his career on a national stage. Not that he can't improve, but that's being a bit nitpicky w/ him.
Odor has work to do w/ working counts also w/ his footwork in the field, but he'll be fine.
Heard the Ranger baws talking on the radio and apparently from what they've heard from Perez and other Venezuleans is that the first contract is to set their families and not themselves. Odor has been providing for I believe they said 7 family members over the last several years back in South America. Now, they have nothing to worry about financially.
