You're just being an idiot. The purpose of insurance is not immortality your dolt. It's to keep you from dying at 35 from a treatable form of cancer, etc.

FatKid said he wishes he didn't have insurance and could just pay for all expenses out of an HSA. I just pointed out that his plan would work unless he had a catastrophic illness which would cost more than his HSA had in it and then he would either be bankrupt or dead.

The ideal system is catastrophic insurance and cash payments for routine healthcare

HSA for health care. (Normal stuff)

Insurance for health insurance(yuge stuff)

I'm guessing you never had insurance prior to Obamacare.

Vast amounts of health care funds are spent on keeping people alive, that have ceased being able to perform everyday activities

That's why you had all the talk about 'death panels', because at some point an insurer is going to say "no more". Yet hundreds of thousands will have been spent up to that point
