I was looking at the entire sample, but the two observed proportions means that there is about an 85% chance that the entire population of Republicans place more blame on Trump. It's just as likely as 6% more place the blame on Trump as equal blame.

So it's not as significant as when I was using the 1332, but it's still far more likely than not that Republicans blame Trump more than Ryan.

No one argued that point. My contention was that within the MOE, they COULD be equally blamed. In fact, at 5.2% MOE, Ryan COULD actually receive more of the blame if every Republican was to cast an actual 'vote'

a 3% difference within a 5.2% MOE isn't a gloatable difference, as that poster had tried to do (was my point)
