A mind of a kid doesn't think about shite like level of competition much further than how good the teams in their own league are.

The frick they don't. You don't think kids know the difference between AA, AAA and major teams? You obviously don't have kids and don't know what the frick you're talking about.

Of course we know what minor leagues were.

I am talking about quality of competition amongst 8 year olds.

When I was 8 or 9 or 10 playing rec baseball we didn't give a shite about the quality of competition in our league. It's not like we were sitting in the dugout wondering if the kids in our league were the best players in the area. When we won games we didn't say "The value of this win is diminished because it came against a crappy rec league team".

Like I said. When I was 10 and playing on the Tigers we beat the Cardinals who were undefeated 15-0 at the time. The way we celebrated that win it was as if the Cardinals were the best 9 and 10 year old baseball team ever created. It's not like we said "Oh well the Cardinals are just a good rec league team, but there are travel ball teams out there who are far better so this win doesnt mean anything"

About the only thing we thought about was whose parents were signed up to bring snacks and drinks for us after the game.
