No, not really. But didn't the OP come here to do exactly the opposite? So I guess that's okay?

well i agree with OP in a sense. there are some cars you don't buy without a v8.

american muscle cars are nothing without a v8 rumble. its there parting piece. so no i don't think it is an accurate comparison.

As a former owner of two nicely appointed Mustang GTs, I actually concur (though I never came to a message board to discuss it). American muscle cars aren't what they're supposed to be without the "muscle". I used to say I'd never have pony car with a V6 and I still pretty much feel that way. That said, these V6s now are more powerful (though they are also governor-limited and can't stand up to heavy throttling). I'd be interested if Ford would put out a V6 Ecoboost instead of the 4-banger version. But then, they'd have trouble selling V8s.

And what I was saying is that we're here bashing the cars of other people we don't know (or maybe we do?). And the person to whom I was replying was actually downing all of the above in favor of his ride, which was interestingly not identified. I was just curious. And yet, still not impressed until someone brings a car forward to beat the 2.3 second 0-60 on the P100D (which they won't). I'm sure it's still a nice car. Hell, we've got someone around our small-town who has a McLaren P1. Beautiful car (and fast)....but won't touch the P100.
