Let's go over this again. This data is valuable because it reveals the trends and desires of the public. Comcast provides no input on that.

If you could get Americans to generate logs of their thoughts and turn them over to one central place it would be the exact same as this.

Comcast provides nothing to this data, they just happen to have a convenient way to collect it.

These aren't your thoughts. They are your actions, and use on another person's property. Credit cards sell your useage data ALL THE TIME. Facebook and google use your phones location services to detect when you go to a store so they can serve you ads to that store. They even detect brand logos in the photos you post to sell advertisers on you.
