Anyone willing to break into an occupied home is more than willing to kill the occupants in order to escape. A burglar/robber already has no respect for you, and by entering your occupied home, has just "told" you he's willing to kill you. Does not matter if they didn't initially intend harm. Once they step up to that level, you better damn well step it up and end their career. They can have my stuff, but neither my family or myself will be getting a scratch if I can help it.
