1). It's one of the few things the government spends money on that it was originally designed to spend money on.
2). Democrats wouldn't match dollar for dollar cuts from other parts of the budget.

What other thing can match the military dollar for dollar? That's stupid, it's like saying cut it by percentage , 100% art for 100% military
