And the biggest traveling violation that happens in every NBA game is the pivot foot.
Nobody cares...everyone moves it, slides it, switches it, hops it...changes it.
It's a joke. Refs don't care. Stern wanted this. He didn't want traditional real basketball rules on a Pro level.
He wanted excitement...and pizzazz...you can't get to Jordan with traditional real basketball rules. You have to let that mustang run free.
He changed the sport in the 80's - Stern...and there were tons of articles about it...look it up...people complained...he wanted it all run and jump sport by eliminating traveling, and pivots and showing control of the ball.
That's what viewers wanted and he won.
