I think non-traveling on such a long history of basketball...has made people think that traveling actually gets called in today's game...because its so egregious.

People were outraged that traditional traveling wasn't called in the 80's...

But then we all got used to that in the 90's - and assumed - this is basketball.

So when the 2000's and now have tried to outdo the 90's - everyone says...oh lets go back to "traditional traveling like the 2000's or 90's."

That's not traditional traveling.

The bar had already been moved egregiously. Nobody remembers how traveling was actually called pre-1986.

You think traveling is called - it's so far removed from what people complained about in the 80's...I mean Jordan was initially called for traveling on a lot of his dunks for basically 2 steps...and well, Stern is a smart business man.

Now you get 4-5 steps...that's the average.
