Not sure the type of bar scene you are looking for but I'll do my best.
I live in Baltimore (Canton) and it's not far from where you're staying. Canton is a nice area of 20s and 30s professionals. If you venture this way hit up the Canton square and there are 10-15 bars that will be crowded 7 nights a week. Blue Hill Tavern is a nice restaurant as well. Good looking women everywhere if that's your thing.
Fells point is cool also and right on the water. Max's Taphouse is the spot I would go to and has over 100 beers on draft and 100s of bottles.
Federal Hill is very close to you and is a good neighborhood but more of the "I just graduated college scene." Tons of hot women everywhere and bars all over Light St and Charles St. The restaurant scene in Fed Hill is lacking in good restaurants (mainly bar food) by Ryleighs Oyster Bar is always good if you like seafood and oysters. Also, if you have free time during, go to the Cross St Market which is in the heart of FH and an awesome to have lunch.
Harbor East in between Fells Pt. and the inner harbor and is a newly built upscale area. Oceanaire is a really good seafood and steak restaurant, although pricey.
If you want a great steak go to The Prime Rib. A mile or two uptown from the inner harbor and expensive, but delicious.
I would encourage you to go to one of these spots outside of the inner harbor, it's way too touristy. There is a Ruth's Chris at the inner harbor if you want to visit a chain. Same deal with Sullivans Steakhouse, Capital Grille, and Fogo de Chao.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you want more info. Baltimore is a great city, shake off the haters

I'm looking forward to an upcoming trip there as well. One restaurant I plan to visit is Johnny Sanchez. There's no way I would choose to go there when visiting New Orleans (due to so many other options), so the Baltimore location is going to be a must-do for me.
Any menu recommendations ?

How about a rec for a good cocktail bar in Fells Point or near Camden?

You won't find a good cocktail bar near Camden Yards, but if you like the bar scene go to Pickles Pub which is right next to the stadium. That's where the radio guys post up and it's a big drinking scene outside in the street right next to the ballpark.
If you want a good cocktail in Fells Pt. I would recommend Bad Decisions or Rye. Cocktail bars are not my thing, but I've been to both and each one are good at what they do.
Enjoy Baltimore
