So someone has mentioned an obscure film to you 100+ times?
Happens all the time here on Tigerdroppings. And I find that many times when I search for a title on Netflix's site, the list of results contains some interesting stuff too.
They only allow you to put 500 DVDs in your queue, and I'm constantly bumping up against that limit.

I actually thought about re-signing up for a DVD plan on Netflix, but I heard that the processing time has actually gotten really spotty compared to just 5 years ago. So, I decided against it.
Been with them for quite a while now. The processing time is just fine. No matter if I'm in Clinton or San Jose, my turn around time is two days. On the second day after I mail one in, I get the next one.

Do they do Blu-Ray too or just DVDs?
Blu-Ray is an extra couple dollars a month. No biggie.

This is probably similar to how Amazon returns work. As soon as UPS picks up the return, they have credited my account.
Probably has something to do with a barcode scan, as another poster said.
I dropped 6 of their DVDs into a blue box in San Jose last year that got robbed. When I was straightening it out with Netflix, the customer service lady told me they get scanned at the post office itself.

So I signed back up last night for the dvd service.
I signed up for the 1 DVD at a time, then realized that I get a free month, so I changed it to the 2 DVD at a time.
Edge of Seventeen and Moonlight are already on the way as of this morning.
I'd forgotten what it was like to have basically unlimited access to any movie I want. It is awesome.
If the processing times work out for me (which I hope so since there is supposedly still a distribution center where I live), then I'll probably keep it.

They get scanned at the post office. They don't have to get to a distribution center to have the next one shipped.
Thanks for answering my initial question.
Netflix's page says that the envelope is scanned once it gets to the USPS Processing Center. In Baton Rouge, that's the big facility on Bluebonnet. So, possibly, if you dropped your envelope in one of the drop boxes at the Bluebonnet facility early in the morning, it could get scanned that same day, cutting one day out of your turnaround. I don't live on that side of town, so someone else will have to perform the experiment.

I get 6 dvds a week, 3 at a time twice a week, but I have to be vigilant about getting them out quick.
I've through about 200 so far and have a good bit more to go. Putting them all on plex.
