It's painful to think about. I'll simply say the movie tried to do too much to take away the mystery of the Alien and the Soace Jockies.
Well I am sure the next two will suck major balls for you then, because they are pretty likely to explain it all in the next two.

It's sad when people get too wrapped up in a "universe" (formally known as a mythos) and then can't enjoy good films related to that universe because they have a set way they expect things to happen in that universe.
Star Wars
Comic Book Movies
Alien
etc
And I'm not with The Egg. The reason I liked Alien so much was that there were unanswered questions in that movie. You start to give me too much info about how this was done and that was done then I start to get bored because I'm no longer imagining or discussing with friends what I think happened.
The Space Jockey was one of the best teasers in all of sci-fi film history. We didn't need a movie explaining them.
But then again that's why some people didn't like Prometheus. They expected an explanation or more aliens. I look at Prometheus as a sci-fi movie in the same universe as Alien but trying to explore the same sci-do trope from a different angle.
Alien is about the universe's uncaring outlook on humanity. We are just the big kid on our planet having mastery over all terrestrial animals, but there are MUCH bigger kids down the block that DGAF about us. Prometheus explored that idea from another angle.
I REALLY don't need to know exactly how the Aliens were created and who did it. That's all white noise that Hollywood puts into sci-fi movies now when sci-fi is all about deeer issues for me.
End rambling.

1. I flat out refuse to believe that the aliens were created. I don't care if the whole world disagrees, I refuse.
2. Prometheus sucked all on its lonesome as well. as "being connected to the alien universe." Some of the stupidest scientists in all of human history were on the Prometheus.

Nah. The only idiots were the two guys that stayed behind. Idgaf if the main guy took his helmet off after getting an air analysis from his suit and reconfirming it with the android. I've seen sillier shite in movies that are worshipped.
The biggest problem was the inciting incident. You convinced a guy to fund a trillion dollar mission based off of cave paintings? However, I forgive that oversite as I don't need a Star Wars Prequel-esque type explanation of HOW they are going. Just need to know WHY.
I also never thought that the aliens had to have been created. To me it was amazing to think that the xenomorphs could have been some middle of the road predator on a planet where there are even bigger baddies. What if they are the equivalent to a lynx or a wolf? Efficient killers, but definitely not the king of the beasts?

The main scientist also lets an Android put a bit of black goo in his drink. Even if he doesn't know what happened, he still watched the equivalent of a super computer put its finger in his drink and should probably hypothesize something fishy is going on.

Lol he did not know the android did that.
You sound grumpy just to be so.

Yeah, he didn't see that.
You're confusing what you see as an audience member with what the characters see.

doesn't it seem a little confusing doing them in that order?

I am sure he didn't see the goo. He did see David out him finger in his drink. The main scientist even gives him an odd look.

Damn. Engineers gettin a Xenotrain run on them in that poster.
It's cool to see Giger still echo from the great beyond. I'm curious who painted that, the link didn't name him/her/it.

Well her circuits could have fried when she was launched in the escape pod. Since she was an android an all that.
