Because it's an option?

Why does it matter? How is this different than two people having a conversation standing, IDK two to three feet from each other?

because the phone talkers tend to speak a lot louder

Again...because people having a conversation with one another in person usually don't talk loudly.


Those on speaker phone tend to talk louder and have their volume turned up louder so that you cannot help but overhear the entire conversation.
