Wait. They're actually going to supply them with illegal substances? Seems um... illegal.

Eh, I wouldn't mind it so much.

Heroin is a controlled substance
Doctors prescribe controlled substances all the time

Will this be only for current addicts, or will they let first timers try it out safely under supervision?

The article also mentions crack. I think that's still currently unavailable at Walgreens. The article says "supervised use". Nothing about supplying them.

Schedule 1 drugs? As far as I know there is only 1 they ever prescribe and it is VERY hard to get a script for it.

That's what I'm for...supervised use. That kind of eliminates having to go get your fix from a dealer
Crack cocaine is also a controlled substance.
Drugs are drugs, man.

They give you crap for physical pain. Might as well give you stuff for emotional pain or to keep you from withdrawing. I don't see the difference.

Lsu480, it's not fake news, it was on KCRA Sacramento evening news.

They still have to buy if from a dealer, dude.

Well, you guys can continue to think this place is going to provide crack and heroin. I remain skeptical. I'm sure they're talking about the Swiss model.

Lsu480, what's your point? I know what opioids are.

At the very least, we need to open all of these drugs up to some of the various medical testing groups. It's so easy to just say yeah drugs ruin lives, but it would be nice to put them through the ringer and see if any of these things can have a positive side.
What?
Opiates have been tested extensively for decades. We know exactly what they can and cannot do.

The illegal nature of drugs causes most of related societal ills. I hope for a time we get past prohibition.

Why not? They're already addicted
Posted on 3/23/17 at 12:06 am to CaliforniaTiger
Well if you did you would know heroin isn't one since heroin is an opiate

You attempt to cure disease. Not perpetuate it.

Heroin is an opiate that is the opiod family. I do know a little about pain management.
