I mean really how often do we make brigade jumps of 1000 paratroopers? I'm a vet and the 101st isn't needed like it used to be

Small point, the 101st is Air Assault, they haven't done "jumps" in many years.

Really in today's battlefield units like the 101st are exactly what's needed. Everything is done by helo insertion. I'd venture to say they are more needed than the 82nd. A true combat jump will never be done again.
