No, according to wikipedia Winfield was replaced by Keith David, another African American actor whose voice sounded somewhat like Winfield's, but he just didn't quite carry the series.

Thanks for correcting me. I always thought it was Stacy Keach. Surely did sound like him. I just checked because it was driving me crazy and it's American Greed that Keach narrated!
