So, the big mardi gras tradition in Detroit is the polish donut called the paczki. Coney Island type restaurants are also very popular here. Of course, one of the famous coney joints merged the two concepts.

funky bunky, i spent a summer in detroit once when i was a mid-sized wee lad. stayed in a nice duplex near the famous woodward blvd.
