I am heading to Pensacola Beach in a couple weeks for a weekend, and am bringing my 17' Boston Whaler.
Looking for a public launch to launch in the Santa Rosa Sound.
Ive never brought my boat there with me before, anyone know a good public launch to use there?
Thanks

Shoreline Park in Gulf Breeze. It is west (right) of the Bob Sikes bridge, which is the bridge going over the sound as you approach the beach. There used to be a launch fee, I think it was $5.00, but that was a few years ago.
ETA: there is not a launch on the beach.

Try Fort Pickens; I think there may be one there.
Of course, you'd have to pay to get in that part of the GINSS.

There's a launch in quiet water beach, people use it to launch jet skis and hobbies and stuff. I would guess you can launch a 17' boat there.

Primitive launch, need 4x4. Would not recommend.

On hard sand. With 4x4, it would be easy to launch a 17' boat.

Thanks, just looked this place up. The launch fee is now $10.00 each time you use, or $50.00 for an annual pass.
This is probably where I will go.
Thanks for the help.

No problem. Hope y'all have good weather. Don't catch all of my fish! I live in Pensacola, and while I agree with DSD about launching with a 4x4 on hard sand, I would not launch my boat at quietwater. Here's why:
From the FWC website re that launch.
THIS ACCESS SITE IS A SHALLOW SLOPE INTO SHALLOW WATER. THE CONCRETE PAVEMENT IS BROKEN AND UNEVEN. BEST SUITED FOR SMALL LIGHT WEIGHT BOATS OR PWCS.

There's one at the big marine store on the city side

There used to be one at the end of Oriole Beach Road. But I moved from there just before Hurricane Ivan hit, so it may have been demolished.
