There are lots of places to get chicks but if you want them sexed you will have to most likely buy them from a breeder. We bought 6 pullets (hens) from a local feed store and 1 ended up being a rooster. Don't buy straight run.

i want 4 hens and one rooster. does it matter if the rooster is a different breed? I just want a pretty rooster to look at and listen to. but want 4 good egg layers
