having said that I still feel she has done a very poor job
I'm not here to defend her. She hasn't met the expectation that was placed on her when she was hired, but she hasn't done a very poor job. She's been the very definition of average. She should get another year to show that she can rise above that.

Very, VERY well said.

Major difference between the men and women right now is that at least the women's program has a future that appears to be bright. Good season this year, with next year even better if things go as planned. Of course she gets another year to keep it up. A change now would be borderline retarded.
To me, the men's program is several years away from decency, regardless of who the coach is. That situation is FUBAR and there is no quick fix.
Not excusing anything that has happened here, but a number of perennial powers have faded the last few years. North Carolina, Michigan State, Duke, Tennessee, and Penn State, just to name a few, are a shell of their former greatness. It goes in cycles. I hope next year is the year we jump back in the scene for consistent Sweet 16 appearances. I fear an 8 or 9 seed this year that means we will have to beat a #1 at their place. Next year we need to win the close games that we gave away this year. This team is so close to being 23- 6 it's not even funny. As the poster above mentioned...4 road games where they had decent leads and they couldn't close.
