Wow you don't need to say much more than that to see what's going on. Trump could save a baby from a burning building and the media would be asking if it was trump who started to fire in the first place. Fake news.

That's so pathetic on their part

Politifact doing what Politifact does.

"The sky is blue".
Mostly False
Most would agree that the sky is blue, and it inherently is. Some visual experts would disagree in the case of color blind people in further research.

Is Trump an idiot for believing that stat, or does he take you for an idiot? Which is it? You get to pick, but it has to be one or the other.

For context...

quote:
First, it is true that the debt has probably ticked down but as noted by the Atlantic's David Frum, this is mostly due to the federal government rebalancing its intra-governmental holdings. Debt outstanding to the public has barely budged since Inauguration Day.
Additionally, the federal government is still operating under the budget passed before Trump came into office, so even if the overall debt decreased, his administration had little to do with it.
Finally, and most importantly, the economic circumstances during his and Obama's first month in office are vastly different and make the comparison totally off base.
When Obama took office in January 2009, the country was in the midst of the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. The US economy lost 702,000 jobs in February 2009 and 832,000 in March 2009, GDP growth collapsed, and foreclosures soared. In response to this crisis, Obama did what presidents typically do during recessions: took on debt to stimulate the economy.

Here you go golden. So instead of trying to create fake news just post to the article.
It cites the entire tweet and explains why it is rated mostly false (because it is).
Sad effort man, very sad. We have the worst fake news posters, don't we folks. Bad hombres.

Doesn't even pass the smell test.

The National Debt in my first month went down $12 billion.
The first problem is that you mis-quoted what Trump tweeted. What Trump actually tweeted was:
“The media has not reported that the National Debt in my first month went down by $12 billion vs a $200 billion increase in Obama first mo.”
Trump not only provided the data you gave in your quote, but also wanted credit for the decline in the National debt.
Politifact was not he only one to call Trump out on that. The Washington Times headline read:
"Trump demands credit for drop in national debt," and the WaTimes article said:
quote:
But the debt had actually been holding fairly steady since just before Thanksgiving, or about two months before Mr. Trump took office. It stood at $19.9 trillion as of the middle of November, came within a whisker of $20 trillion around the new year, and now stands back at $19.9 trillion again. LINK
Forbes also commented on Trump's tweet under the headline:
"Trump's Right, The Debt Has Fallen $12 Billion - It's Nothing To Do With Trump Though", and the Forbes article went on to say:
quote:LINK
He’s right that it has fallen–and it’s also absolutely nothing at all to do with the fact that Donald Trump was elected nor that he took office. It’s about the vagaries of Federal accounting plus the fact that tax revenue is rather “lumpy” to use the vernacular. What it isn’t is a signal that the national debt is on a downward path generally– .
What Trump tweeted was a half truth. Most people I know consider a half truth a lie.

Kind of reminds me of Hussein bragging about the deficit being reduced by actions that he fought tooth and nail against ("the sequester).
I don't remember anybody rating that as "mostly false" because he had nothing to do with it (in fact, he fought against it).

The fact checkers are even less credible than CNN.

This has to be one of the most pathetic "brags" of all time.

"The numbers check out" - Mostly False

Politi"fact" also took almost the exact same statemetn from Bernie Sanders and from Trump regarding actual black unemployment and rated Sanders mostly true and Trump mostly false.
They both said, essentially, that REAL unemployment for blacks was much higher than the stated government %.
For Sanders statement they said "Mostly true, the official number sucks!"
and for Trump said "Mostly false, he's using unofficial metrics, the government's official number is X! He's lying!"
