There are useful idiots all over. All major politicians exploit them. For instance, I don't think anyone can possibly bring back all of the manufacturing jobs that left the rust belt. It may be possible to attract new investment and bring new jobs to the area, but that doesn't mean that places like Buffalo or Detroit have a future in manufacturing and should give up diversifying their economy.
A lot of Trump's political enemies are disingenuous and hyperbolic about him because of their own shocking defeats. They are still really upset about November so there's no limit to the nonsense they will say. From there you have the mouth pieces that spread lies, and the fools that believe them. The Russians conspiracy and Pissgate are good examples.
