In Seattle I live about 90 miles from a lot of ski resorts... can go skiing at any time I want as its only an hour and a half drive to places like Crystal Mountain

Yet I only go once or twice a year because its too expensive. Lift tickets $75 for one day. I don't buy my own skiis because I don't go enough to justify the expense. So I rent skiis there and thats another $50

$125 for a day of skiing. That's just too much to do too often, and thats for someone who lives near a slope

Factor in all those who dont live near slopes and can only go when they take a vacation

75 for a lift ticket? I wish I could get that. Mammoth mountain is 149 on a peak Saturday this year.
