So, hypothetically, importers of coffee beans will pay taxes on resale of coffee with no deduction for the actual cost of the beans?? Riggggghhht! I call BS on this. At worst, there might be a tariff-type adjustment that the importer pays that leveliizes outside goods with American cost of goods - in such cases, it would be a fraction of what is implied here.

I'm no economist but this sounds good to me. Gives a leg up to American companies by effectively reversing the status quo where cheap foreign labor (sweatshops) makes it difficult to compete.
As a consumer, I already pay taxes on the full amount of the cost of a product why shouldn't we make foreign companies do the same? Passing the cost of the tax onto the consumer will make buying American that much easier.
