Better way: the class action lawyers receive a percentage of the awards claimed. If you feel you were legitimately wronged, you claim your award and the lawyers get a cut which they rightfully earned. If you don't feel you were wronged you don't claim the award and the predatory lawyers don't profit from representing you without your consent.

You do realize this is done. In all class actions an opt out letter is sent to the last known address of the plaintiff. 99% of all people throw them away without responding. Can't blame the lawyer for that. Also I'm not a lawyer.
