He should've let the south succeed. South's econmony revolving slavery would've eventually collapse.

I'll judge. He's the greatest president this country could have hoped for and is largely responsible for the preservation of a young, regionally and culturally fractured union. Forging the identities of our several states into one nation underpinned this country's economic rise and ascension to great power status within a mere couple of decades of a ruinous war.

Reconstruction would have gone a lot better if that damn fool secessionist Booth hadn't murdered him.
