John Deere CEO Sam Allen says projected food shortages are due to explosive population growth to the extent that agricultural output "will have to double by 2050". I'm sure he doesn't know wtf he's talking about though.

Hasn't the global population growth been leveling off in the past decade or so?
Nice sales pitch for his product though.
