"Hate speech" is not illegal -- that is a lie espoused by the left. I can call you a dirty wetback and that is not illegal. I can say I'm glad Hitler killed the Jews, and that's legal. On the other side of the aisle, I can say death to America and "Allah Akbar" and that in itself is not illegal.

What becomes illegal are explicit threats to persons or property.

But, you're right about free speech. Many people seem to misunderstand what the 1st amendment does and what it does not do. The 1st amendment gives you immunity from persecution or censorship from the GOVERNMENT for speaking your mind. It does not guarantee you any freedom from censorship from private entities like Internet websites and the like.
