Politics. Say the Reps spend two years formulating a replacement plan. We got the House and the Senate in our favor but not the Oval Office that will never sign a replacement plan by the first two. If we're being honest here, numbers were not really good for that scenario changing in 2016.
So, do you waste the time and effort on something that isn't really in the cards, i.e., a Rep. being elected? When it comes to politics, you wait until it happens then you pounce.

They weren't doing anything else; why not work on an alternative?
Let me answer my question for me.....bc they're all fricking establishment types and only wanted to bitch about Obamacare instead of actually doing something about it. Trump fricked up their whole plan.
