Why is this a good thing?

Because activist leftist get to try to say the constitution is working when it's not.

The dems are fighting a losing battle

What logical person would say that a country has no right to limit or ban immigration for any reason?

Right now they aren't and it's fueling their outrage. That all they really care about is temporary outrage.

Keep the brush fires stoked so the firefighters are always chasing the flames when they should be catching the fire bug.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A federal appeals court early Sunday rejected a request by the Justice Department to immediately restore President Trump’s targeted travel ban, deepening a legal showdown over his authority to tighten the nation’s borders in the name of protecting Americans from terrorism.
In the legal back and forth over the travel ban, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit in San Francisco said a reply from the Trump administration was now due on Monday.
The ruling meant that refugees and travelers from seven predominantly Muslim nations — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — who were barred by an executive order signed by the president on Jan. 27 would, for now, continue to be able to enter the country.
After a Federal District Court in Seattle blocked Mr. Trump’s order nationwide on Friday, the Justice Department appealed the ruling late Saturday, saying that the president had the constitutional authority to order the ban and that the court ruling “second-guesses the president’s national security judgment.”

It's universally accepted by the legal community that the US cannot limit or ban immigration for *any* reason. Whether you agree with it or not, our laws do not allow arbitrary or indiscriminate immigration bans. Now they're just deciding whether the reasons put in the EO are acceptable reasons.
ETA: editing to say that the term *any* was meant to say that the government cannot limit or ban immigration for whatever reason they want, there are limits. I didn't mean it as the government is unable to limit immigration. Sorry for any confusion.

You mean like Bush appointed District judges?
Has it not occurred to you that maybe Trump is simply wrong on this? I know he's been on the job for a whole 2 weeks and all....but he's not a lawyer and his Chief of Staff is the Nativist Kook behind Breitbart. ???

It's universally accepted that you don't know wtf you are talking about.

Wow. These liberals really just do not care about the law.

I don't think that's the problem, here.
Remember congress? Yeah, those guys. They should prolly weigh in on something like this.

Not necessary. The President is fully within his rights here.

The president’s authority to declare such suspensions can been found in section 212(f) of the INA, the pertinent part of which reads as follows:
"(f) Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

So strange how liberals think activist judges are infallible.
