Your threshold for what is considered intellectual is pretty low.
You can be intellectual and still participate in a stupid and goofy radio show.

He doesn't write as much, but most everyone recognizes LeBatard as one of the best sports writers going.

No, they don't. Did you ever actually read his Miami Herald column?

And his radio show blows because it's such a non-effort show. "Oh, look at us! We don't care about sports! We don't do any show prep! We're so whacky!" It's a lame derivative of 1000s of Morning Zoo hacks with a slight sports bent.

And Dan tries to push this loose cannon, I'll-say-the-things-no one-else-will persona up until the point you challenge his PC narrative. Then he can't shut up the caller quick enough. He's a fraud and fits right in with ESPN.
