There's tons of sites to find martin houses. You can usually find them at Wal Mart and Home Depot. Sometimes they do not nest in your house the first year you put it up. If there is a colony close by then your chances dramatically increase. Most houses are at least 6x6 with a 2" entrance hole. Like others said, keep the sparrows and starlings out. They will run them off. I usually see the male scout around Valentines Day on the Westbank in N.O. They're cool as hell to watch, especially when they dive bomb from the sky to the house at dusk.
