Thank you for posting this I was about to cry because I thought my firestick was broken and someone gave it to me so I couldn't get it replaced. It worked just like you said any suggestions on how to hook the firestick to a tv without an HDMI outlet? I tried a converter but it didn't work and then it started doing that optimizing system thing. My mom has an older tv than I do and sometimes I like to watch tv with her so any suggestions on how to hook the firestick to a tv without an HDMI outlet?
