I volunteered after I went to the protest.
I had to wait as I was only 17 then.

First of, thanks for your service. I would say though that a lot of those protesters were actively seeking to bring you home and save your life. Sure there was the rouge group that shunned the soldiers that were doing as they were ordered and drafted into doing, but a lot of them genuinely did not want to see American soldiers be slaughtered and maimed.

So I asked AUbagman, the guy that responded to your comments, who said that he was sure Most of the protesters against the Vietnam War were trying to protect the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines, what his year of birth was and if he served --- No response

I would say he does not know shite about what happened to you and I and so many of our Brothers, no clue, but it sounded good
Guys got off the planes and saw crowds waiting for them, thinking it was Americans Welcoming them home, well they welcomed them home alright, what a load of CRAP
By the last couple years of the war they brought us in at 2am in the morning, when no one was awake and the demonstrators were to lazy to get up. We were told to change out of our uniforms into civies as quickly as possible. Problem was our haircuts gave us away. So the shite continued.
You can't pretty up what happened and how it affected the men and women who served.
I really like what the Memorial at the Superdome says:
At a time when this Nation called and few answered these Men Did"
To You my Brother
