I don't understand why there isn't a move to try to change the attitude surrounding recruiting in LA. The best players in MS and AL have immense pressure placed on them to stay in state, but the attitude in LA has grown far too lax. People around here talk as if there are "consequences" to leaving to play out of state, but it doesn't feel that way. That pressure isn't there the same in LA as we see in some other places. If it was that way in the past, it certainly isn't anymore.
Beyond beating Bama on the field, this also needs to change. There SHOULD be pressure. A great in-state program deserves respect, and pressure should be brought to bear to make sure it's given. The in state attitude shouldn't be lax and/or resigned. Even if it takes some guys facing truly being ostracized after deciding to leave, or pressure being placed on HS coaches to make sure LSU is given their due, this needs to happen. Without the kind of pressure The Network applies in MS and the REC enforced in AL, things won't change even with a few wins.
