I've worked on mine for a little over ten years. The further you go back, the avenues you can go down to research increase exponentially. I'm distantly related to Presidents, Kings, Prime Ministers, and other historical figures. Tens of millions, perhaps hundreds of millions are related to them, too. The fun part though is that you can show how you are related to these people of note. The British kept pretty good records. The further back you go, the spottier things become but for the most part you can get an pretty accurate tree back to the late 15th/early 16th century. Even further back if they were someone famous.
